Fortnightly classes in Contact Improvisation

These classes welcome everyone who is curios about feeling more at home in their body with the desire to move and connect to others in consensual ways. Contact Improvisation has a technical side to it, exploring the movement options of two dancers being in touch while sharing weight. That can be very subtle but also more acrobatically, softly on the floor or on higher levels where lifts are possible.

It is an improvised form that goes beyond a couple dance, where connections within the whole group can emerge effortlessly. It can be rather magical, which is a big reason why I am still fascinated about Contact Improvisation after 30 years of practice.

A focus on technical skills we’ll have at the classes on Thursdays 6-8pm in the classes at the Valdora hall (360 Valdora Rd, Valdora QLD 4561): a beginners course in October and afterwards possibly again in a fortnightly rhythm alternating with the classes in Eumundi.
